CHECK IN WITH HOW YOU’RE FEELING: DRAW YOUR FEELINGS AS THE WEATHER

By checking in with yourself regularly, you are able to provide yourself the self-care, self-love and nurture that you deserve. We store all sorts of feelings and emotions within our bodies especially when we do not have a form of release.

This exercise will allow us to nourish ourselves by checking in with ourselves and tapping into a deeper state within to self-discover and self-explore why we feel the way we do in each moment.

The more we practice this exercise, the more it becomes a part of our regular routine to incorporate it into our daily lives.

Now get yourself in a comfortable space and allow yourself to be in the moment. Remember, there is no right or wrong way to do this exercise. Go within and trust the process of creating.

Materials Needed:

  • Paper

  • Any writing material you are inspired to use (IE: colored pencils, markers, paints, pens, pastels, etc)

Directions:

  • Ask yourself how you are feeling and what weather symbolizes those feelings/emotions and fee-flow with drawing just that

Outcomes:

  • This tool allows you to check in with how you’re feeling to release emotions that are stored in the body, along with increased emotional awareness, improves your ability to express your feelings, process emotions, helps you become more self-aware and promotes creativity.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • Was it challenging to come up with what weather my feelings are? If so, why?

  • Why did I choose this weather?

  • When were other times that I felt this way?

  • What inspired me to choose the colors I did?
