Grief Support Group for Teens 10/5

Service Description

WHAT: 3-week support group for teens to learn about grieving, self-express and communicate through art and mindfulness. FOR: Teens ages 13 to 17 DATES: Saturday 10/5, 10/12, 10/19 TIME: 1pm-2:15PM PRICE: $115 SPACE IS LIMITED: 8 participants This 3-week grieving support group for teens provides a safe space to self-express, communicate (verbally and non-verbally through art), and release feelings and emotions due to the grief. Each week, the Art Therapist/Life & Mindfulness Coach will educate on the different stages of grief and provide coping strategies and tools. This is also a space for teens to explore their own feelings by connecting to others who are going through a similar experience to show they are not alone. IMPORTANT NOTE: For Week 3, if your tween has any memorabilia/memories such as pictures, cards, letters, personal items that may remind them of their personal loss please make sure your tween brings the items in for this week! These items are to be placed in a memory box that we create this week. ****THIS IS A DROP OFF CLASS FOR TWEENS**** This is a NON-CLINICAL Class. SIDE NOTE: Classes will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Facilitated by Dianne Furphy, MS Certified Life & Mindfulness Coach, Master Degree Art Therapist and Founder & Owner of Kreate What U Want LLC Dianne has all updated documentation for clearances: -Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance -Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance -Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Family Criminal Clearance No student will be denied admission on the basis of race, color, gender or ethnic origin.
