Children's Story Time + Letter Writing

Children ages 5 to 9 are welcome to join in on this special story time & learn the process of letter writing and filling out an envelop to mail! BOOK TITLE: Letters In My Name Brian J. Fitzhenry, the author of Letters In My Name, will be reading this adventurous, fun and educational story about the mail system. Following story time, Dianne Furphy, the illustrator of Letters In My Name, will be guiding the youth to write or draw a letter to the person they want to send the letter to. Brian and Dianne will guide the youth on how to write a letter, fill out an envelope and even put a stamp on and have the letter ready to be mailed. PARENTS: We ask that your job in this class would be to help the youth with your (and the youth’s) address, along with the address they would like the letter to be mailed to, and even a stop at the mailbox for the youth to personally mail the letter themselves! The book, Letters In My Name, will be available for purchase at this class and even have the author and illustrator personally sign the book for your youth! A description of Letters In My Name: “Young Brian’s discovery of the mail starts with disappointment but soon leads to a new world of communication and a lesson of today’s mail system. He soon realizes that a simple letter will lead to the joy of giving and the reward of receiving.” ***Parents are welcome to wait in the waiting area or join in on the class. SMALL CLASS: SPACES ARE LIMITED to 8 participants per class! ***Pre-registration is required, please no walk-ins. SIDE NOTE: Classes will be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. No student will be denied admission on the basis of race, color, gender or ethnic origin.
